About DEDUX
Who We Are
At DEDUX, we believe every student deserves access to the tools, skills, and opportunities that unlock their future. We are an education and design consultancy dedicated to helping schools and communities prepare students for success in college, careers, and life—with a special focus on expanding access for underrepresented minority youth to technology and design careers.
Through our signature GRID Program and human-centered design services, we partner with schools, educators, and industry leaders to bridge opportunity gaps, introduce students to future-ready skills, and build pathways into industries where representation is often limited.
Our Mission
To empower schools and communities with the tools of human-centered design to prepare students—especially those from underrepresented backgrounds—for careers in technology, design, and innovation.

Meet the Founder
Jonathan Turner
When Jonathan Turner began his journey in design, he quickly noticed something missing: students who looked like him—or came from similar backgrounds—were rarely represented in technology and design spaces. The opportunities were there, but the doors often felt closed to young people from underrepresented communities.
Jonathan’s curiosity for design started long before he even knew what the field was called. As a teenager, he was always sketching concepts, experimenting with technology, and contributing to projects that blended creativity with problem-solving. In college, while studying philosophy and theology, he found himself consistently drawn to building, improving, and reimagining the experiences around him. Yet, despite his natural inclination, he was never exposed to design as a formal discipline during his adolescence or undergraduate years.
It wasn’t until after graduation that Jonathan encountered human-centered design—a framework that finally gave a name and structure to what he had been doing all along. More than a methodology, it offered him a new way of seeing the world: that every challenge is an opportunity to listen, create, and build together.
As Jonathan moved deeper into the design field, he realized that too many young people—especially students of color and those from underserved communities—were still missing out on this same exposure. They weren’t being introduced to design education early, nor shown that they had a place in technology and creative industries.
That realization is what sparked DEDUX. For Jonathan, DEDUX is more than a consultancy—it’s a mission. It’s about opening doors that were once closed, equipping students with future-ready skills, and showing them that they already have the creativity and resilience needed to thrive in design and technology careers.
Through DEDUX, Jonathan sees an opportunity to change the narrative: to ensure that the next generation of innovators reflects the richness and diversity of the communities they come from. His work is rooted in faith, mentorship, and a simple but powerful belief—that when underrepresented students gain access to design and technology, they don’t just participate in the future, they help design it.
Why DEDUX?
Too often, underrepresented youth lack access to industries like technology and design. DEDUX changes that by:
Providing early exposure to future-ready career pathways.
Building bridges between education and industry.
Connecting students with mentorship and representation in fields where diversity is limited.
Delivering co-created solutions that benefit students, educators, and communities.
Unlike traditional education programs, we don’t deliver one-size-fits-all answers. We listen, collaborate, and design with our partners to ensure impact is meaningful and lasting.
